It is best to start with the same brand of food if you choose to change brands to better suit the needs of your puppy add the new food to the brand puppy has been on to transition over a the course of 7 days MINIMUM to prevent digestive issues and from puppy getting diarrhea. Grain free food is recommended for the doodle diet although TLC does contain some grains we have had no issues with this food.
We recommend feeding the same food that your puppy has been started on for at least the first year of life. It's best not to change your puppy's diet, especially not within the first few months in your home. Changing a diet too quickly can not only cause tummy upsets and messy stool, but it can affect how your puppy grows -- we trust the TLC brand for proper and optimal puppy growth. Please consider keeping the same food that your puppy is already eating.
We will send your puppy home with a food sample of TLC Puppy formula enough for one week if you choose to switch to another puppy food brand.
If you are following our recommendation of staying with the TLC brand -- please ask us about additional savings that we exclusively offer to our puppy customers!
We believe in supplements to help with puppy development and growth. We add probiotics in with our puppy food and our affiliates of NuVet labs where we purchase our supplements. Samples of these products will be included in your puppy pack.
As the puppy gets older and has their permanent teeth we feed raw marrow bones which are great for cleaning teeth.
Commercial treats we only recommend good quality treats from a pet store or homemade dog cookie recipes. Keep in mind too many treats and/or too rich of treats will cause stomach upset in your puppy.
